Signage Design Engineer - (Structural & Drafting)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design and structural analysis of signage systems, including façade-mounted signs, pylons, totems, gantries, billboards, and special feature signage.
• Prepare, review, and approve structural design calculations for signage structures in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and local authority requirements.
• Produce and review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for signage projects, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with approved designs.
• Personally carry out and/or supervise drafting work using AutoCAD (and other relevant design software) for complex signage and steel structures.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, production teams, and site teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project timelines.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities for design submissions, technical clarifications, and approvals.
• Review method statements, lifting plans, and installation procedures related to signage works from a structural and safety perspective.
• Ensure all designs comply with UAE building codes, wind load requirements, structural safety standards, and project-specific specifications.
• Support value engineering initiatives and provide technical solutions to optimize materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes.
• Assist with preparation of as-built drawings, technical documentation, and project closeout deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc) – mandatory.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (MSc) – mandatory.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in signage, façade, steel structures, or similar engineering fields.
• Proven hands-on experience in drafting and preparing shop drawings for signage or structural steel projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with structural analysis software is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of structural design principles, wind load calculations, connection design, and steel detailing for signage systems.
• Experience working with consultants and authorities in the UAE for design approvals.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
