RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Documentation Development & Control
- Prepare, review, and maintain maintenance procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor adherence to documentation control procedures and ensure consistent formats across departments.
- Maintain document updates in line with equipment, configuration, or operational changes.
- Manage document control, versioning, and approval workflows to ensure full traceability and ISO compliance.
Configuration & Asset Documentation Management
- Identify, classify, and maintain records of signaling and centralized control (CC) system assets.
- Support the development of documentation related to asset configuration, lifecycle management, and preventive maintenance planning.
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects field configurations, modifications, and system updates.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to ensure configuration control and version consistency across systems.
Technical Support & Process Improvement
- Provide documentation and technical input for technical investigations, root cause analyses, and system reviews.
- Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to validate and update technical documentation.
- Support testing and commissioning documentation, including validation and acceptance reports.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance the quality, accessibility, and usability of maintenance documentation.
System Integration & CMMS Administration
- Support the setup, configuration, and continuous updating of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure CMMS data accurately reflects current asset configurations and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to align system data with actual field and documentation records.
Standards, Audits & Quality Assurance
- Participate in internal and external audits related to signaling documentation and maintenance procedures.
- Track and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions to ensure closure.
- Support the development of documentation KPIs, performance dashboards, and compliance reports.
- Maintain consistency with railway industry documentation standards and ISO quality systems.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare regular reports on documentation updates, compliance status, and technical performance indicators.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to standardize documentation practices.
- Conduct training sessions for maintenance and technical teams on documentation and procedural updates.
- Contribute to departmental KPIs related to documentation accuracy and compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
- Participate in documentation digitalization projects and integration into CMMS or document management systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing documentation efficiency and quality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Manager.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend any safety-related meetings or briefings as required within the job role.
- Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System.
- Be mindful that Safety, Security, and Environmental protection are everyone’s responsibility.
- All staff members are accountable for reporting and intervening in any Safety, Security, or Environmental violations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
- Additional certifications in documentation management, quality systems, or configuration control are an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written); French is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Good understanding of signaling and centralized control (CC) systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation and ISO standards.
- Knowledge of Testing & Commissioning (T&C) and maintenance production processes.
- Understanding of Maintenance Management Systems (MMS/CMMS), e.g., Maximo.
- Awareness of railway system safety culture and asset management principles.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in the preparation or management of maintenance documentation within the railway, metro, or LRT industry.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance documentation, configuration control, and technical support for signaling assets.
- Experience collaborating with OEMs and system integrators for documentation and compliance activities.
