Simulation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Simulation & Analysis

• Perform FEA simulations including:
• Linear & Non-linear Structural Analysis
• Static, Dynamic, Fatigue, and Modal Analysis
• Thermal & Thermo-Structural Analysis (where applicable)
• Conduct simulation-driven design validation and optimization
• Support design decisions by providing analytical insights and recommendations

Design Support

• Work closely with design engineers to understand functional requirements
• Suggest design improvements for weight reduction, strength, and durability
• Validate concepts during early design and support final design freeze

Testing & Correlation

• Correlate simulation results with physical testing and field data
• Support prototype testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations
• Improve simulation accuracy through model refinement

Documentation & Standards

• Prepare detailed simulation reports and presentations for internal reviews
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.)
• Maintain simulation methodologies, assumptions, and best practices

Tools & Software

• CAE tools such as:
• ANSYS / Abaqus / Altair / SolidWorks Simulation (any one or more)
• CAD exposure: SOLIDWORKS / Creo / NX (basic to intermediate level)
• Good understanding of meshing techniques and solver settings

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation

• BE / BTech / MTech in Mechanical Engineering
• Specialization in Design / CAE preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong fundamentals in:
• Strength of Materials
• Machine Design
• Finite Element Method (FEM)
• Ability to interpret results and convert them into actionable design inputs

Behavioral Skills

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design, testing, and manufacturing teams

Experience

• 2–7 years of hands-on experience in CAE / Simulation for industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or mechanical systems
• Experience in pressure vessels, frames, weldments, rotating equipment, or material handling systems is a plus
