Key Responsibilities
Simulation & Analysis
- Perform FEA simulations including:
- Linear & Non-linear Structural Analysis
- Static, Dynamic, Fatigue, and Modal Analysis
- Thermal & Thermo-Structural Analysis (where applicable)
- Conduct simulation-driven design validation and optimization
- Support design decisions by providing analytical insights and recommendations
Design Support
- Work closely with design engineers to understand functional requirements
- Suggest design improvements for weight reduction, strength, and durability
- Validate concepts during early design and support final design freeze
Testing & Correlation
- Correlate simulation results with physical testing and field data
- Support prototype testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations
- Improve simulation accuracy through model refinement
Documentation & Standards
- Prepare detailed simulation reports and presentations for internal reviews
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.)
- Maintain simulation methodologies, assumptions, and best practices
Tools & Software
- CAE tools such as:
- ANSYS / Abaqus / Altair / SolidWorks Simulation (any one or more)
- CAD exposure: SOLIDWORKS / Creo / NX (basic to intermediate level)
- Good understanding of meshing techniques and solver settings
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- BE / BTech / MTech in Mechanical Engineering
- Specialization in Design / CAE preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Strength of Materials
- Machine Design
- Finite Element Method (FEM)
- Ability to interpret results and convert them into actionable design inputs
Behavioral Skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with design, testing, and manufacturing teams
Experience
- 2–7 years of hands-on experience in CAE / Simulation for industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or mechanical systems
- Experience in pressure vessels, frames, weldments, rotating equipment, or material handling systems is a plus
