Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of the construction phase of our new wind power project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in wind farm construction, and robust project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical works, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-incident safety culture, enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and regulations, and ensure all construction activities comply with local, national, and international standards.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring all parties meet contractual obligations and performance metrics.
  • Schedule & Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules; track project progress against milestones; manage the project budget, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) program, conducting regular inspections and ensuring all work meets required technical specifications.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including engineers, client representatives, local authorities, and community members, providing regular progress reports and managing expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks (technical, safety, financial, environmental) and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Resource Management: Ensure the efficient and effective utilization of labor, equipment, and materials on site.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively address and resolve construction challenges, design issues, and unforeseen site conditions in a timely and effective manner.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with significant experience specifically in wind energy or renewable power generation.
  • Deep understanding of wind turbine installation, balance of plant (BOP) works, grid connections, and associated civil/electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to EHS standards and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging and dynamic site environment.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
