Job Title: Site Coordinator

Primary Function

Responsible for providing mentorship to Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos youth members, enabling them to develop self-confidence and reach the full potential as responsible, caring citizens through ensuring proper implementation of Boys & Girls Club National Programs, Local Initiative Activities, ASSET, and Special Events at their designated site. Responsible for data collection, maintaining confidentiality, safety and supervision of members and Youth Development Professionals.

1.LEADERSHIP

  • Influence Youth Development Professionals to perform to their highest potential in order to have great success and impact on youth members.
  • Offer team building and support to their co-workers.
  • Lead Youth Development Professionals and youth members through positive role modeling.
  • Provide recognition to members through ASSET validations, healthy incentives, and affirmation on a regular basis.
  • Positively influence and uplift members and other affiliates. Manage and embrace the Youth Development Strategy, ASSET, and the Boys & Girls Club culture, philosophy and 5 values: Positive, Innovative, Professional, Integrity, and Passionate.
  • Follow all policies and procedures at all times, including the Club’s Code of Conduct, which can be found in the Employee Handbook.

2.MANAGE & DEVELOP RESOURCES

  • Program and Special Event planning and preparation is required to ensure successful programs and activities.
  • Attend, participate, and help facilitate Staff Trainings; apply knowledge gained post-training.
  • Ensure data collection, measurement, attendance numbers (MTS/CitySpan) and reports are created, completed, and organized in order to assure accurate numbers.
  • Must ensure and drive ASSET schedule and protocol is maintained while in program.
  • Other duties as assigned.


3.COMMUNICATION

  • Must be able to inform important and relevant information in staff meetings, staff trainings and to members, parents, co-workers, school administration, teachers, as well as Boys & Girls Club affiliates.
  • Must be able to listen to co-workers, parents, youth members, school administration, community and other Boys & Girls Club affiliates.
  • Must be able to present important and relevant information and/or presentations through staff meetings, trainings, community events, classroom visits and other Boys & Girls Club events.
  • Must be able to write and compose clear, concise, accurate documents including: written documentation for staff and youth, emails, agendas, and data reports.
  • Display an open and honest attitude and offer uplifting and positive verbal and non-verbal communication that produces high quality results.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills may be used frequently and are highly valuable.


4.SUPERVISION & SAFETY

  • Must be able to supervise youth members and staff during program time.
  • Ensure positive and professional delivery in both program delivery and administrative work.
  • Supervise the work of Direct Reports.
  • Assist and support parents of youth members to ensure member’s positive behavior, emotional well-being, and academic success.
  • Must be able to stand in for a Youth Development Professional when necessary.
  • In the absence of the Site Director, Program Coordinator becomes the next in command.
  • Practice and constantly be aware of safe practices like Crisis Management, Emergency Preparedness, PR and First Aid, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace at all times.


Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge

  • Work experience with a Boys & Girls Club or other youth serving organization.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, and discipline youth members and staff in a safe environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must meet the requirements of an Instructional Aid in the San Marcos Unified School District.


Experience

  • Work experience with a Boys & Girls Club or other youth-serving organization preferred.


Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Maintain a high energy level.
  • Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Speak clearly and hear normal conversations as well as out of the ordinary noises.
  • Stand for four plus hours per day.
  • Stoop, bend, climb, and walk frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 40 pounds.
