Job Title: Site Engineer – Structural Steel
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Site Engineer to manage and oversee all
site-related activities for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. The Site
Engineer will be responsible for coordinating site works, ensuring compliance with
project specifications, supervising installation teams, and liaising with clients and other
stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the erection of structural steel components on-site
- according to drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure timely delivery and readiness of
- materials.
- Conduct site surveys and ensure proper marking, alignment, and positioning of
- steel structures.
- Review erection drawings, method statements, and ensure all site work is
- executed in compliance with approved documentation.
- Responsible for all site activities throughout the entire project duration, ensuring
- smooth and efficient operations.
- Track project progress in line with the planned invoice flow, ensuring work
- execution aligns with billing milestones and project cash flow.
- Monitor the progress of site activities and report to the Project Engineer on a
- daily / weekly basis.
- Liaise with main contractors, consultants, and other site personnel for
- coordination and issue resolution.
- Ensure proper handling and installation of steel elements to maintain quality and
- safety.
- Supervise rigging, lifting, and bolting activities, ensuring adherence to safety
- standards.
- Identify and address any technical issues at site, escalating where necessary.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily site reports, inspection checklists, and manpower tracking.
- Ensure site safety protocols are followed and participate in safety toolbox talks
- and briefings.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of site experience in structural steel fabrication and erection works.
- Solid understanding of structural drawings, erection sequences, and lifting
- plans.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and practices, particularly for
- steel erection.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in challenging site conditions.
- Proficient in MS Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD or Tekla (preferred).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
