Job Description: Structural ROB Work Site Engineer
Overview:
A Structural ROB Work Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the on-site construction of reinforced concrete (RC) structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction practices, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision:
- Oversee all aspects of RC construction activities, including formwork erection, steel reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, and curing.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor and inspect construction progress, identifying and resolving any potential issues or deviations from plans.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction methods.
- Perform concrete tests (e.g., slump tests, cube tests) to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Document inspection findings and prepare reports.
- Safety Management:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on the construction site.
- Conduct safety inspections and address any hazards.
- Ensure the use of appropriate safety equipment by all personnel.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and authorities.
- Resolve conflicts and disputes professionally.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of construction activities, including daily reports, inspection reports, and material certifications.
- Prepare progress reports and other relevant documentation.
- Problem-Solving:
- Identify and troubleshoot construction problems, developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Adapt to changing site conditions and make necessary adjustments to the construction plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in structural engineering or construction supervision.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of concrete technology and quality control procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
- Project management certification.
