Job Summary
The Site Engineer – Building Construction is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day construction activities on site to ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role involves close coordination with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and site workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Ensure works are carried out according to project schedules and report progress to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors and foremen.
- Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Prepare and verify setting-out works, levels, and alignments in coordination with surveyors.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions at site level.
- Implement quality control procedures and ensure works meet required standards.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate with consultants for work approvals.
- Ensure corrective actions are taken for non-conforming works.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE policies and local safety regulations.
- Promote safe working practices and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers for smooth execution of works.
- Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and material usage logs.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in building construction projects.
- Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use building projects is preferred.
