Job Title: Fit Out & Joinery Engineer

Job Summary

A Fit-Out & Joinery Engineer in Dubai is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing interior fit-out and joinery works across commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality projects. This role ensures that all joinery and finish items are delivered to the highest quality, within program timelines, and in compliance with project specifications, design intent, and UAE building codes.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Execution & Coordination

• Oversee on-site implementation of fit-out and joinery activities in line with approved drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, designers, and consultants.
• Ensure smooth handover of fit-out & joinery packages from design to site execution.
• Monitor daily activities and update project status accordingly.

2. Technical & Design Support

• Review architectural and interior drawings for feasibility and compliance with engineering standards.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and cutting lists for various joinery elements (e.g., cabinets, panels, doors).
• Provide technical clarifications to consultants, clients, and site teams.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure materials, workmanship, and finishes meet Dubai building codes, international quality standards, and client expectations.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and prepare snag lists.
• Implement corrective measures and track their closure.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at all times.

4. Procurement & Material Management

• Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, hardware, and finishes that meet quality and budget requirements.
• Review material submittals and samples for approval from designers/clients.
• Track delivery and inventory of joinery components to avoid delays.

5. Cost & Schedule Control

• Assist in preparing bill of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and variation quotations.
• Monitor labor, subcontractor costs, and site expenses.
• Regularly update the project schedule and help resolve potential overruns.
• Report KPIs to project leadership.

6. Stakeholder Communication

• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
• Facilitate productive discussions between design, client, and site team to resolve issues.
• Attend site progress meetings and provide accurate input and updates.

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Strong understanding of fit-out processes and joinery engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Office.
• Knowledgeable in materials (wood, MDF, laminate, veneer), hardware systems, and finishes.
• Familiar with quality inspection standards and HSE requirements in Dubai.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3–7+ years in fit-out and joinery engineering (experience in Dubai/MENA is a strong advantage).
• UAE experience and knowledge of local codes and authority requirements preferred.
• Valid UAE driver’s license is often an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
