Site Operations Intern

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

At J Walt, You’ll support live fit-out projects from mobilization to handover. Expect time on site with project & site engineers, coordinating subcontractors, materials, HSE compliance, and closing snags so projects finish on time, on spec, on budget.

What you’ll do

  • Site coordination: Be on site, assist daily site briefings, track manpower logs, verify progress vs. look-ahead, and update site diaries/photos.
  • QA/QC & snagging: Check finishes against drawings/BOQ, raise RFIs, log snags in a tracker, follow up to closure, and support mock-ups/samples approvals.
  • Drawings & docs: Print/mark up shop drawings/as-built sets, maintain document control (revisions, transmittals), and prepare method statements with engineers.
  • Materials & procurement: Track material submittals/approvals, delivery schedules, and store checks; coordinate with suppliers for timely call-offs.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Liaise with MEP, joinery, and specialist subs; support inspections with consultants/clients; prepare handover files (O&M, warranties).

What you’ll learn

  • Full fit-out lifecycle: site setup → inspections → testing & commissioning → handover
  • Basics of QA/QC, HSE, RAMS, permits, RFIs, BOQ, and authority procedures in Dubai
  • Practical use of site trackers, look-ahead programs, and progress reporting

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Civil/Architectural/Interior/MEP Engineering (or similar).
  • Confident on drawings (plans/elevations/sections); AutoCAD basics preferred; MS Excel/Sheets required.
  • Strong communication and note-taking; fluent English (Arabic/Hindi a plus).
  • Physically able to work on active sites; UAE driving license required.
  • Familiarity with MS Project/Primavera basics etc

KPIs you’ll be measured on

  • Documentation accuracy & timeliness (site diary, RFIs, permits, inspections).
  • Snag closure rate and RFI turnaround within SLA.
  • Materials on-time (planned vs. actual delivery adherence).
  • HSE compliance (PPE/permit readiness, zero-incident support).
  • Handover readiness (as-built/O&M completion quality).

Working hours: Monday–Saturday with site-based schedule; flexibility for inspections as needed.

  • Compensation: Monthly stipend + performance incentive per successful completion of project.
