Site Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee field operations for mechanical construction projects involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and piping systems. The Superintendent is responsible for managing on-site Foremen and ensuring the overall project schedule is maintained. This role oversees the project from start to finish, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and budget requirements. This position requires experience in all phases of construction, supporting project planning, coordination, scheduling, procurement, and daily field operations from preconstruction through project completion.

The Superintendent also ensures clear and consistent communication between the Project Manager and field teams to keep the project on schedule and within budget. In collaboration with the Project Manager and field staff, the Superintendent helps identify and implement the most efficient methods for completing the project successfully.

Key Responsibilities

● Supervise daily jobsite activities for mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.

● Oversee the project from initiation through completion

● Communicate regularly with the Foreman regarding daily jobsite activities and progress.

● Coordinate with the Foreman on field crew scheduling, subcontractor work, and material deliveries.

● Ensure work meets project drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes.

● Maintain project schedules and monitor field productivity.

● Enforce safety policies and oversee jobsite safety meetings.

● Provide updates on jobsite progress and communicate any issues to the Project Manager.

● Participate/Facilitate in job site coordination meetings with the general contractor and other trades.

● Manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities.

● Provides the preliminary schedule to the Project Manager

● Create, update, and manage a three-week look-ahead schedule.

● Coordinate with and schedule subcontractors.

● Prepare material lists and verify that all items have approved submittals before ordering; cross-check materials upon delivery to ensure they match approved submittals and project requirements.

● Initiate RFIs and submit them to the Project Manager for review and discussion.

● Approve timecards.

● Maintain daily reports/logs documenting project activities, issues, opportunities, and progress, including photos and planning needs for the upcoming week (manpower, materials, tools, inspections, etc.).

Qualifications

● Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, electrical or piping).

● Prior experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or field supervisor.

● Proven experience on commercial mechanical construction projects & Public Works.

● Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).

● Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

● Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

● Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite safety practices.

● Effective communicator who can clearly convey needs, plans and expectations

● Team-oriented with the ability to mentor, coach and lead employees

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
