The Site/Project Engineer plays a major role in managing on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a deep understanding of technical drawings, construction methods, and Dubai’s local building regulations. The Site/Project Engineer is responsible for supervising labor and subcontractors, optimizing resources, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining rigorous quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Site Management
- Lead and supervise the implementation of construction activities in accordance with project plans, specifications, and design requirements.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, providing expert guidance to the labor force for accurate on-site execution.
- Ensure familiarity and compliance with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Dubai.
Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, and Subcontractors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to guarantee timely delivery and availability of materials, machinery, and equipment on-site.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports, status updates, and project documentation as per company guidelines.
Labor and Subcontractor Supervision
- Manage and supervise subcontractors, laborers, and other on-site personnel, translating project goals into actionable tasks.
- Provide clear instructions, delegate responsibilities, and motivate the workforce to achieve project targets efficiently.
- Develop strategies to maximize labor productivity, optimize resource utilization, and minimize downtime.
Quality Control and Safety Management
- Establish and enforce strict quality control procedures, ensuring construction activities meet the highest standards of workmanship and accuracy.
- Conduct inspections and verify the quality and quantity of materials delivered on-site, ensuring they align with project requirements.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety by strictly implementing safety protocols and conducting regular site safety inspections.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Implement time-efficient work methods and continuously monitor and improve construction processes.
- Optimize material usage on-site to minimize waste while upholding premium quality standards.
- Identify and resolve on-site challenges promptly, ensuring seamless project progression.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including drawings, reports, correspondence, and site documentation.
- Contribute to project planning meetings and support management in decision-making with relevant site updates and insights.
