The Richmond Hill Fire Department is committed to supporting your transition to a career in firefighting at every step of the way. We offer a firefighter certification training program and provide mentoring and job placement support once you're trained up. The DoW Skillbridge Program is a vital initiative providing military service members with valuable civilian training and employment opportunities as they transition out of the military.

This training program will prepare a military service member to perform fire suppression and emergency rescue services.

Training Program: 13 weeks, Monday-Friday 0800-1600

Training Outcomes: NPQ Firefighter 1, NPQ Hazmat Awareness, NPQ Hazmat Operations, and NPQ Firefighter 2 certified

+ Have 180 days of service (or fewer) remaining prior to your date of military discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active Military service.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

+ Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act.
