Skilled Trades Recruiter

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Skilled Trades Recruiter to join our talent acquisition team. In this vital role, you will drive the sourcing, engagement, and hiring of highly skilled trades professionals across various technical disciplines. Your expertise will help build a talented workforce capable of supporting complex projects and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence workforce development, leverage innovative recruiting strategies, and foster strong relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders alike.

Duties

  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to attract skilled trades candidates through social media management, cold calling, and research.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting processes, including screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating assessments to identify top talent.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) such as Workday, iCIMS, or Taleo to track candidate progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal hiring managers to understand staffing needs and deliver tailored talent solutions.
  • Conduct employment law compliance checks and ensure all hiring practices adhere to labor regulations.
  • Lead employer branding initiatives on social media platforms to enhance visibility among trade professionals.
  • Negotiate employment contracts and employment terms with candidates while ensuring alignment with company policies and legal standards.
  • Support onboarding processes by facilitating employee orientation sessions and managing employee relations during the transition period.
  • Engage in campus recruitment efforts by building partnerships with technical schools and trade colleges to attract emerging talent.
  • Participate in succession planning activities by identifying high-potential candidates for future leadership roles within trades teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical recruiting, HR sourcing, or executive recruiting within skilled trades or similar fields.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close offers effectively while maintaining positive candidate relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging candidates via cold calling, social media management, and relationship management.
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms such as Workday, Taleo, iCIMS, or PeopleSoft; experience with HRIS systems like Kronos or UltiPro is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment & labor law applicable to hiring practices across different regions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with applicant screening tools such as Lever or Salesforce integrations for recruitment tracking.
  • Strong research skills for sourcing passive candidates through social media management and lead generation techniques.
  • Understanding of employee evaluation processes, contracts, employee orientation, and training & development programs.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
