Slitting Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate slitting/rewinding machines as per daily production plan.
• Set machine parameters such as speed, tension, web alignment, knife/blade positioning, and roll width.
• Load/unload jumbo rolls and ensure correct film threading through the machine.
• Manage job changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience required.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Identify and address common slitting issues (web wandering, blade bluntness, tension variation, etc.).
• Perform basic maintenance and assist the maintenance team during breakdowns.
• Ensure blades/knives are sharpened or replaced as needed.

Material Handling & Documentation

• Maintain accurate production records, job cards, and machine log sheets.
• Ensure proper labeling of finished rolls.
• Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and report discrepancies.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols related to slitting operations and material handling.
• Use PPE and maintain safe working habits around rotating machinery.
• Keep the work area clean and organized (5S compliance).
