Small Engine Mechanic/ Landscaper Equipment Repair

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic and Landscaper Equipment Repair Technician to join our dedicated service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small engines and landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, generators, and other power tools. The candidate must have strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with equipment repair, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair small engines, including gasoline and diesel-powered equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and generators.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, blade sharpening, belt replacements, and electrical system checks.
Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Conduct repairs involving welding, soldering, heavy lifting, and the use of power tools to restore equipment functionality.
Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and service history for each piece of equipment.
Assist customers with troubleshooting advice and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
Support inventory management by ordering parts and ensuring the availability of essential tools and components.
Follow safety protocols diligently during all repair procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills

Must have extensive service technician background in small engine repair.
Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
Hands-on experience with equipment repair including generators, heavy machinery, and landscaping tools.
Familiarity with electrical systems, soldering techniques, welding processes, and power tools operation.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or equipment handling.
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
Basic sales skills for recommending parts or additional services when interacting with customers. This position is integral to maintaining operational efficiency for landscaping professionals and equipment users alike.
