Small Parts Technician – Overview

The Small Parts Technician plays a critical role in supporting production flow by preparing, kitting, and staging all small parts and subassemblies required for Final Assembly.

This role is responsible for ensuring all parts carts are fully built, accurate, and ready for each unit scheduled in Final Assembly the following day. This includes parts cart kitting, subassemblies, panel builds, and panel reworks. Your work directly impacts production efficiency, build quality, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Safety is everyone’s responsibility. You follow all company safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Inspect parts, panels, and subassemblies for defects or inconsistencies before releasing to Final Assembly.
  • Ensure all kitted parts and assemblies are accurate, complete, and meet GFC quality standards.
  • Take ownership of your work — accuracy, consistency, and reliability are critical to team success.

Production Support & Prep

  • Build and prep all parts carts for units scheduled in Final Assembly the following day.
  • Prioritize work based on the production schedule to ensure next-day readiness.
  • Kit all required hardware and components, ensuring completeness and accuracy for each unit.
  • Complete subassemblies to support production flow.
  • Build and prep panels, including completing any required panel reworks.
  • Ensure all components are staged, organized, and ready for seamless use by Final Assembly.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations, parts bins, and carts.
  • Help identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Final Assembly to ensure all parts carts are complete, accurate, and ready for build.
  • Participate in the feedback loop to identify and resolve missing or incorrect parts.
  • Communicate proactively with Production Leads and Production Manager to address shortages and prevent repeat issues.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly (preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy across repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and build documentation.
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated with a team-first mindset and adaptability to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
  • Routinely lift or move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive tasks using hands and arms (grasping, reaching, handling tools).
  • Comfortable working in a production environment (noise, concrete floors, PPE required).

Things to Know

  • Production operates on a 4x10 schedule (Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–6:30pm with a 30-minute lunch). Hours may vary based on production needs.
  • GFC maintains a strong team culture and carefully considers all additions to the team.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
