Social Media and Marketing Specialist

Pay: $25.00 per hour (W2)

Note: Must visit the New York office once per month to gather content from the Senior Planet center.

Role Summary

The client’s Communications team is hiring a part-time Social Media and Analytics Specialist to support marketing efforts, elevate Senior Planet programs, and share stories from older adult participants. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will develop and carry out social media strategies that strengthen brand presence, grow online communities, and improve digital engagement across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, websites).
  • Build networks within the nonprofit sector.
  • Create engaging content and maintain a strategic posting calendar.
  • Support digital promotion of events and advocacy campaigns across all Senior Planet locations.
  • Optimize platforms, including paid social, in collaboration with advertising teams.
  • Engage participants and audiences through active social feedback.
  • Track, analyze, and report performance metrics.
  • Incorporate equitable storytelling aligned with racial, social, and environmental equity commitments.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications and/or social media.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, self-directed, data-driven environment.
  • Strong written communication skills for digital and social formats.
  • Familiarity with Sprinklr, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with analytics, reporting, and managing multi-channel social media.
  • Background in diversity, equity, and inclusion communications.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills in WordPress, Mailchimp, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong visual/design sense.
  • Knowledge of aging/tech industry trends and events.
  • Experience with advocacy-driven social media campaigns.
  • Cross-cultural communication experience; ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Multilingual, especially Spanish, is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
