Position Overview: Kindness Ranch is looking for a passionate Social Media Coordinator and Storytelling Producer to join our team. In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our online presence, creating and editing all social media content with a strong focus on storytelling and fundraising. You’ll help share the unique and inspiring journeys of our animals and the people who care for them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Editing: Produce, shoot, and edit engaging visual and written content for all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Storytelling Focus: Adhere to strict storytelling guidelines that align with Kindness Ranch’s mission. Every piece of content should highlight the animals' journeys from research facilities to safe, loving environments, and celebrate the compassion that defines our sanctuary.
  • Platform Management: Manage and schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to our online community in a voice consistent with our values.
  • Guideline Compliance: Ensure all content meets organizational standards for messaging, tone, and sensitivity, especially regarding the depiction of former research animals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in social media management and content production, ideally within a nonprofit or animal welfare context.
  • Strong storytelling and narrative skills with the ability to craft emotionally compelling content.
  • Proficiency in video editing, photo editing, and social media publishing tools.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work closely with the Kindness Ranch team to capture authentic stories.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has their own equipment (camera, video editing software, microphone, etc.) and is ready to hit the ground running.
  • Is a self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision and takes initiative to bring ideas to life.
  • Can storyboard, script, and plan content in advance, sometimes up to a month or more ahead to align with seasonal events, holidays, or campaigns.
  • Understands and values the importance of ethical storytelling, especially when working with vulnerable animal populations.
  • Has excellent time management and can balance reactive posting (e.g. a surprise animal arrival) with planned campaigns.
  • Demonstrates creative problem-solving, is open to feedback, and willing to iterate based on audience insights and engagement.
  • Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar platforms is a strong plus.
  • Bonus if you’re familiar with nonprofit work, animal welfare, or have an existing portfolio of mission-driven storytelling.

Why Join Us: You'll be a vital part of sharing the Kindness Ranch story and making a real impact in the lives of animals and those who support them. We offer a supportive environment that values creativity, empathy, and the art of storytelling.
