Social Media Developer

Position Scope: The Social Media Developer (SMD) will serve as the primary voice of the Alexandre Family Farm brand, acting as a bridge between daily activity on the dairy and our online audience. This role combines social media community management with on-site content creation, primarily based in Crescent City with occasional work in Ferndale. The SMD must have a strong understanding of the social media landscape while remaining adaptable to the values and goals of the Alexandre Family. This individual will capture authentic and compelling content, and deliver it in a creative, engaging, and on-brand farmer voice.

Responsibilities include content planning, filming, editing, posting, and social community engagement, and META ad execution. The ideal candidate is skilled in mobile content creation, comfortable interviewing team members and family, and able to manage time efficiently. Spanish proficiency is a plus.

This individual should be responsive, dependable, and an effective communicator who works well both independently and as part of a team, bringing a positive and professional attitude to all aspects of the role. We understand the right individual will need training to fully execute their role. Management of the entire social media program will be the goal for this position.

We are seeking to develop this position into a Social Media Manager role and will provide training and mentorship to the right individual.

Role Requirements:

  • Must reside in the Crescent City area; although the position is primarily remote (work from home); regular travel to all company sites is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute content calendars while remaining flexible to real-time opportunities.
  • Comfortable conducting on-camera interviews and engaging employees, leadership, and family members in authentic storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong grasp of brand voice and messaging.
  • Ability to engage with community comments and messages in a professional, timely manner.
  • Comfortable interacting and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization and within the community.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and an understanding of their influence on consumer perception and brand engagement.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and skill development to build a broad, well-rounded communications foundation.
