Social Media Manager — Retro Rifle
Location: Tempe, AZ · Full-time · Reports to: Head of Brand
Retro Rifle makes loud, collectible button-downs and flannels - pop-culture mashups, tactical vibes, and designs that sell out fast. We move fast (three new designs/week), run high-energy drops, and build communities that come back again and again. We’re hiring a Social Media Manager who lives and breathes community, knows the firearm / outdoors lifestyle, and can turn fans into superfans.

- Own day-to-day content and community across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Groups,.
- Build and execute weekly content calendars that match our drop cadence and product launches (stories, Reels, TikToks, static posts, BTS)
- Grow and engage our owned communities — manage FB groups, respond to DMs/comments, run Q/A's, polls, UGC challenges, and member-only activations.
- Produce high-quality social assets with our in-house team (photography, designers); ideate and film short-form video briefs.
- Run paid social ad tests in partnership with Performance Marketing: creative testing, verticals, and messaging.
- Measure and report KPIs: engagement rate, follower growth, CTR, ROAS on content tests, group retention, and UGC volume.
- Own community safety & brand voice moderation.
- Develop influencer & creator relationships in the firearms/outdoor space and manage micro-collabs.
- Recommend new platforms, features, and guerrilla marketing ideas to accelerate growth.
Must-have qualifications

- Direct experience working with firearm, outdoor, hunting, tactical, or adjacent lifestyle brands (you understand rules, culture, and compliant messaging).
- Strong short-form video skills (concept → shoot brief → edit direction). Comfortable scripting Reels/TikToks.
- Community management chops: you know how to scale conversations, reduce churn, and convert lurkers into contributors.
- Proven ability to interpret metrics and run iterative creative tests.
- Excellent written voice — can write snappy captions, long-form community posts, and crisis copy.
- Familiarity with social tools: Meta Business Suite, TikTok Creator tools, Hootsuite/Buffer/Later, Sprout Social, or similar; basic Canva/Photoshop/Lightroom skills.

- Video editing (Premiere/CapCut) or motion skills.

- Launch repeatable weekly content calendar and creative pipeline.
- Increase social engagement rate by 25% and grow followers across core channels (benchmarks discussed in interview).
