Social Media Manager and Content Creator

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media Manager/Content Creator to join our union presidential election campaign team. The ideal candidate is a skilled digital storyteller who can develop and execute engaging social media strategies that inspire, inform, and mobilize union members and supporters.

This is a contract-based position (1099-NEC)—perfect for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. This role requires a strong understanding of social media marketing, content creation, and analytics to effectively manage our online presence across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to enhance campaign visibility, engagement, and support.
• Create, curate, and manage high-quality visual content (graphics, videos, animations, infographics, reels, and stories) across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
• Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities for engagement through social listening.
• Utilize AI tools for image and video generation to produce creative, timely, and impactful content.
• Collaborate with the campaign team to align content with key messages, announcements, and upcoming events.
• Conduct keyword research and optimize content for SEO to improve visibility in search results.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, AI tools, and digital marketing best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling campaign communications.

Experience

• Proven experience in social media management with a strong portfolio showcasing successful campaigns (portfolio or sample work required).
• Strong skills in graphic design and familiarity with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Proficiency with AI content generation tools (e.g., Midjourney, DALL·E, Runway, Synthesia, ChatGPT, etc.).
• Deep understanding of social media algorithms, engagement tactics, and digital marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication and copywriting skills with a keen eye for detail in proofreading and editing.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with political campaigns, unions, or advocacy organizations is a plus but not required.
