From ensuring individuals are housed with working utilities to supporting students in achieving academic success, the NNH focuses on creating relationships and connecting families to support that aids them in creating long-term stability.
Position Summary
The Social Media Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in sharing NNH’s story and driving community engagement for our three thrift stores. Operating under the strategic direction and close guidance of our Marketing Manager, this role requires a strong blend of collaboration and independence. We are seeking a creative self-starter who can take a concept, bring their own unique perspective to it, and execute it effectively. If you are skilled in visual storytelling, enjoy the retail or thrift landscape, and want to use your talents to support a meaningful local mission, this hybrid role offers a great opportunity to make an impact.

- Run day-to-day social media for NNH's three thrift stores across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms
- Script, shoot, and edit short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, and Shorts), including providing clear, natural voiceovers and staying mindful of current platform trends.
- Build and maintain the thrift store editorial calendar, draft compelling captions that connect back to our mission, and design branded graphics in Canva.
- Run promotions, contests, and giveaways that drive foot traffic and sales
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure thrift marketing aligns smoothly with broader NNH programs and agency-wide initiatives.
- Show up on camera when needed for Reels, Stories, and video content
- Analyze key metrics—such as engagement rates, follower growth, and attributed foot traffic—to measure the effectiveness of your content and adjust strategies accordingly.
What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications)
- 2+ years of dedicated experience in professional social media management and digital content creation.
- Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, Instagram Edits, Splice, or similar) for use on social media platforms
- A strong eye for visual storytelling, with the confidence to shoot, edit, and provide voiceovers for short-form video (Reels, TikToks) both behind and in front of the camera.
- A creative self-starter who can take strategic direction from the Marketing Manager and run with it independently to meet deadlines.
- The ability to connect warmly and professionally with store staff, volunteers, and customers while capturing content on the retail floor.
- A background in retail, apparel, thrift/vintage landscapes, or the nonprofit sector strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with scheduling and analytics tools (Hootsuite or comparable)
- Bonus points if you have direct experience with creative or organizational tools like Canva or Asana.
