Job Summary

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating, publishing, and managing content across social media platforms to build brand awareness, engage audiences, and support marketing and business objectives. This role analyzes performance metrics, stays current with trends, and collaborates with marketing, design, and content teams to deliver consistent, on-brand messaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with brand and marketing goals
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content (text, images, video, stories)
  • Manage daily posting calendars across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn)
  • Monitor comments, messages, and mentions; engage with followers professionally
  • Track and analyze performance using platform insights and analytics tools
  • Optimize content based on data, trends, and audience behavior
  • Coordinate with designers, copywriters, and marketing teams
  • Manage social media campaigns, promotions, and influencer collaborations
  • Stay up to date with platform updates, trends, and best practices
  • Ensure brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across channels

Qualifications & Skills, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand or agency
  • Experience creating content for multiple platforms

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and algorithms
  • Experience with social media management tools
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.)
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting

Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and visual communication skills
  • Creativity and storytelling ability
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and brand consistency

KPIs & Performance Metrics

  • Follower growth and reach
  • Engagement rate (likes, comments, shares, saves)
  • Content performance and click-through rates
  • Campaign results and conversions
  • Response time to messages and comments

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with paid social media advertising
  • Influencer or community management experience
  • Understanding of SEO and digital marketing fundamentals
