Creative Director – Social Video Strategy & Production

Zator Media is hiring a Creative Director with proven experience leading short-form video strategy at scale.

This role is for someone who has already operated in a high-output content environment and can demonstrate measurable results. We are not hiring based on potential — we are hiring based on execution history.

If you have not directly led content strategy, managed editors, and driven performance through short-form video, this will not be the right fit.

We are scaling aggressively and need a Creative Director who can maintain and elevate our output quality as volume increases.

What You Will Own

This is not a conceptual-only role. You will own execution quality.

Creative Strategy

  • Translate client positioning into structured video content frameworks
  • Develop high-retention hooks and narrative structures
  • Align every asset to strategic considerations
  • Provide visual references with strategic rationale

Pre-Production Leadership

  • Build detailed shoot outlines
  • Develop question flows and content architecture
  • Ensure clarity before cameras turn on

Post-Production Direction

  • Create structured “paper edits” from raw footage
  • Write precise editing notes for production teams
  • Direct pacing, tone, and music selection
  • Maintain quality control across 100+ monthly deliverables

Client Leadership

  • Confidently guide high-performing business owners
  • Make judgment calls without constant oversight
  • Protect creative standards while serving business goals

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)

To be considered, you must have:

  • 3+ years in professional video strategy, content direction, or social media production
  • Direct experience managing editors or creative workflows
  • Demonstrated understanding of short-form performance metrics (retention, hook strength, conversion intent)
  • Experience working with business owners, founders, or professional service brands
  • Proven ability to manage high content volume with systems

Hiring Process

Stage 1 – Portfolio & written review

Stage 2 – Paid trial project ($200, 5–8 hours estimated)

Stage 3 – Final interview

We compensate for trial work. We are selective.

Compensation

$50,000–$75,000 base, dependent on experience and performance history.

Performance-based growth opportunities available as the agency scales.

This is a role for someone who wants to build long-term, take ownership, and grow with a high-performance team.
