Overview

This role requires an individual who is creative, organized, and plant-loving to join our team and garden centers. If you are someone passionate about storytelling through visuals, connecting with customers through social media, and bringing a retail space to life through creative marketing efforts. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure our garden centers’ brand is vibrant, engaging, and aligned with our seasonal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation, Social Media and Email Marketing

  • Capture and edit compelling photo and video content, highlighting plants, products, events, and the daily operations of the garden center.
  • Strategically plan, schedule, and publish posts across various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook), ensuring adherence to brand voice and guidelines.
  • Monitor social media engagement and respond to inquiries and comments as necessary.
  • Develop and distribute engaging weekly email newsletters to customers showcasing current sales, upcoming events/workshops, new arrivals, and other seasonal highlights within the garden center.

Graphic Design and Signage

  • Design all in-store signage, including:
  • Roadside banners
  • Plant information signs
  • Promotional and sales signage
  • Digital screens (where applicable)
  • Develop marketing assets utilizing photography, graphic design, and established branded templates.

Event Support and Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of retail events, workshops, and seasonal classes.
  • Create promotional materials for events (e.g., flyers, social graphics, signage).
  • Provide support for day-of event logistics and customer engagement.

Brand and Strategy

  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain alignment with seasonal marketing themes and retail priorities.
  • Contribute innovative and creative ideas to promote products, educate customers, and enhance brand presence.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Art and Design, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Constant Contact, and various Social media platforms)
  • Portfolio of work is preferred, but not required.

Other Requirements:

  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for events, workshops, or trade shows.
  • Could require physical activity: setting up displays or signage.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Pay: From $43,000.00 per year
