<Job Summary>
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Social Studies Teacher to inspire students with engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and civic responsibility. In this role, you use the Bob Jones curriculum along with incorporating educational standards, innovative learning technologies, and create a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation. Your expertise will help students connect historical events, social sciences, and current affairs to their lives, preparing them for active citizenship and lifelong learning.
<Duties>
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies, including project-based learning, discussions, and multimedia resources to enhance student understanding of social sciences.
- Integrate learning technology tools to facilitate interactive lessons and support differentiated instruction tailored to varied learning styles.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and ongoing formative assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional best practices, and school-wide initiatives to promote a cohesive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral management while adhering to confidentiality policies.
<Qualifications>
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education, History, Political Science or related field;
- Proven classroom management skills with experience working with diverse student populations in various educational settings is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Experience integrating learning technology tools such as digital platforms for research, library services, or online assessments.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring students through tutoring or individualized instruction; knowledge of standardized testing procedures is beneficial.
