We are seeking a multi-disciplinary Software Developer / Engineer to help design, develop, and integrate the full software stack for HemoOne — from embedded control to cloud-connected applications. You will work on the architecture, coding, and deployment of systems that combine AI computer vision, robotics control, and medical safety standards.

This role requires a self-driven engineer comfortable wearing multiple hats — from system design to coding and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain multi-language software systems (Python, C/C++, JavaScript, etc.) supporting robotics control, imaging, and UI/UX.
  • Design and implement architecture for the HemoOne front-end interface (desktop/web) and back-end data systems (control logic, cloud APIs, telemetry).
  • Integrate AI models for object detection, segmentation, and computer vision (e.g., YOLO, U-Net).
  • Collaborate with robotics and hardware teams to interface with sensors, actuators, and controllers (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Pico, or MKS boards).
  • Implement safety-critical code including core interlocks, force/position monitoring, and emergency abort functions.
  • Support data pipeline development for image acquisition, annotation, and model retraining.
  • Conduct testing and validation using synthetic-arm setups and bench simulations for precision, latency, and reliability.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through good documentation practices (ISO 13485 style) and pre-compliance checks (EMC, electrical).

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ (additional languages like JavaScript/Node.js are a plus).
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV).
  • Familiarity with robotics systems, kinematics, and embedded device integration.
  • Exposure to computer vision (object detection, segmentation, 3D mapping, or pose estimation).
  • Knowledge of medical device development, automation systems, or ISO/MHRA compliance is a major advantage.
  • Understanding of UI/UX or web-based dashboards for device control.
  • Ability to write clean, modular, and well-documented code.
  • Self-starter attitude with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving ability.

Bonus Experience

  • ROS or microcontroller firmware development.
  • Working with NIR cameras, ultrasound data, or sensor fusion.
  • Cloud and database integration (Firebase, AWS IoT, etc.).
  • Prior experience in MedTech, diagnostics, or healthcare robotics.

What You’ll Gain

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation in healthcare with real-world impact.
  • Direct collaboration with a founder-led engineering team.
  • Flexible, remote work with long-term growth potential.
  • Experience in a field that bridges AI, robotics, and medical innovation.
