Software Engineer

Kratos is seeking a Software Engineer to support dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design and development to testing and operational support. The ideal candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to design, implement, and troubleshoot software solutions while leveraging modern industry standards and providing clear status updates on design efforts. Key responsibilities include performing system integration by developing and deploying applications within the FORGE Mission Data Processing Application Framework (MDPAF) and utilizing containerization tools like Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift to manage services on the Kratos OpenSpace OpsCenter platform. Additionally, the role involves driving testing and automation by designing Python and Gherkin/Behave scripts within CI/CD pipelines, as well as providing operational support through requirements verification, formal documentation, and software troubleshooting in simulated environments.
Experience and Skills:

• 5 - 7 years industry experience
• The successful candidate must have advance software development experience from school or industry to be proficient in the following:
• • Platform Experience: Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with FORGE MDPAF or satellite ground station processing (planning, ground control, data processing).
  • Languages/Tools: Python, GitLab/Azure DevOps, JIRA/Confluence.
  • Testing: Functional, integration, regression, and performance testing expertise.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Active Security Clearance.
• Certifications: RHCA, CKA, or CKAD.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps principles.

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $106,000-$140,000
