Software Engineer – EdTech Platform

This role involves developing a robust online educational platform designed to connect students in the UAE with teachers in Jordan for private lessons in Arabic language, Islamic education, and foundational academic support. The platform will require a secure, scalable architecture to facilitate live online classes, enable admin oversight, and support specialized sessions for students with learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will provide expert input on technology stack selection, mobile compatibility, payment gateway integration, and bilingual (Arabic/English) functionality. You will collaborate closely with the project owner to define the process, timeline, and deliver a user-friendly, feature-rich solution tailored to the needs of students, teachers, and administrators.

Deliverables

• Develop a web-based platform with separate dashboards for admin, teachers, and students
• Implement secure online payment integration (card and Apple Pay)
• Enable file sharing, assignment uploads, and real-time class sessions
• Build admin features for monitoring, joining sessions, user management, and performance tracking
• Integrate support for special sessions managed by specialists for students with learning difficulties
• Advise on technology stack, mobile version feasibility, and reporting tools
• Ensure bilingual capability (Arabic/English) throughout the platform
• Provide documentation and recommendations for ongoing maintenance
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in web application development, preferably in EdTech or similar platforms
• Strong knowledge of modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue for frontend; Node.js, Django, or Laravel for backend)
• Experience with payment gateway integration (Stripe, Apple Pay, or regional alternatives)
• Familiarity with user management, role-based access, and secure authentication
• Ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable architectures
• Understanding of accessibility and support for students with learning difficulties
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide professional recommendations
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage
