Software Engineer II, Data, Autonomy

The Autonomy organization at Rivian is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our dynamic analytics
team. If you are interested in transforming raw data into actionable insights and have experience with
tools like Hex, Streamlit, SQL, AWS, and Databricks, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to
building data pipelines, dashboards, and metrics for autonomy features. This role is ideal for someone

guidance from senior team members.

  • Data Visualization: Assist in designing and developing interactive data visualizations using tools
such as Hex, Streamlit, or Tableau to support decision-making.
  • SQL Queries: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data for
reporting and analytics.
  • AWS Support: Use AWS cloud services to support data storage, processing, and analytics
workflows.
  • Databricks Integration: Work with the team to develop notebooks and workflows in Databricks
to support data pipelines and dashboards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with senior engineers, business stakeholders, and analysts to understand
requirements and deliver data solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns that support
informed decision-making.
  • Data Pipelines: Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data pipelines to
ensure data availability for dashboards and reporting.
  • Best Practices: Follow team standards for data engineering, including data governance, security,
and documentation.
  • Storytelling with Data: Assist in creating clear narratives around data insights for stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer, with experience handling
moderately large datasets.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Hex, Streamlit, or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating datasets.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience with Databricks, AWS, or other cloud platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take guidance from senior engineers.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
