Software Engineer/ IT Support Engineer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, monitor, and maintain VPN connections for remote research staff and collaborators.
• Support cybersecurity activities, including user access management, basic security checks, and patch updates.
• Assist with cloud system maintenance (Microsoft Azure or similar).
• Install, configure, and manage Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise tools for the research team (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software and connectivity issues.
• Work with the IT and data teams to ensure research data is stored securely and backed up properly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in IT support, software setup, or system administration.
• Basic knowledge of VPN setup, cloud systems, and cybersecurity practices.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 Enterprise and user administration.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow data protection protocols.
