Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required); in-scope poly within the past 7 years may be required
Schedule: Standard on-site mission schedule

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like

You’ll design and build software components that process large volumes of data across distributed environments. Your day may involve developing new Java services, optimizing MapReduce workflows, troubleshooting performance issues, or integrating cloud-based capabilities into existing platforms. You’ll collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions. Expect hands-on coding, debugging, system integration, and continuous improvement of mission systems running in production environments.

Minimum Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and at least seven (7) years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Demonstrated experience working with distributed data systems and cloud-enabled environments is required.

Required Skills

• Strong software development experience using Java

• Experience with the MapReduce programming model and associated technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Hive, Pig, etc.)

• Experience working with distributed Big Data platforms

• Familiarity with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable

• Experience with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)

• Cloud environment experience

• Ability to design, develop, debug, and integrate complex software systems

• Experience working with serialization formats such as JSON or BSON

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired Skills

• Experience with GhostMachine or QTA environments

• Familiarity with large-scale analytics platforms

• Experience optimizing performance for high-volume data pipelines

• Ability to work independently in mission-driven environments

Technology Stack

Java, Hadoop ecosystem tools (MapReduce, Hive, Pig), HDFS, NoSQL databases such as HBase or Accumulo, cloud platforms, distributed computing frameworks, JSON/BSON serialization, Big Data analytics tools, and mission-specific platforms including GhostMachine and QTA.

Compensation Range: $139,000.00 - $179,000.00

• The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
