What You'll Do

As Software Engineer Manager, you will have overall technical responsibility for design, development and technical support of Meetings & Events applications. You will be part Enterprise Services Digital Products Portfolio and work with a team of internal and external developers, as well as a cross-functional team consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, & others to provide high quality applications which respond to and meet the business needs of the entire BCG organization. You will be expected to participate in hands-on development activities as well as providing technical guidance and oversight to successfully execute projects. Have overall responsibility for the health of our Meetings & Events applications, in terms of quality of the program code and operational effectiveness, from a technical standpoint. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is also essential.

What You'll Bring

Education

• College degree and 10+ years of experience in the development of business applications in a commercial IT setting, or in consulting

Experience/Knowledge

• Strong experience developing standards-compliant applications using technologies such as .Net (Framework + Core), Web technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, JSON, XML etc.
• Strong experience with a commercial RDBMS, preferably Oracle or SQL Server and No SQL like MongoDB, DBT.
• Strong experience with code versioning tools Git/TFS.
• Strong experience in working with Agile teams.
• Experience with cloud-native platform development, preferably AWS and Azure; GCP is good to have
• Experience in frontend technologies like React, Angular is good to have
• DBT command and Snowflake experience is good to have
• Experience in Docker Containerization Technologies is good to have
• Experience working and supporting external application development providers.

Additional info

YOU’RE GOOD AT

• Design and develop applications built with the Microsoft stack (.Net Core, API), Oracle RDBMS, DBT, SQL Server, No SQL and IIS Web configuration/management.
• SOA & Microservices architecture implementation using REST APIs, queue-based messaging patterns, exposure to Mulesoft/Kong is a plus
• Development experience in Microsoft .Net Framework and experience in Front-end JavaScript frameworks like Angular & React
• Experience working on AI/Gen AI implementations and underlying architecture, and models
• Having sound knowledge of Dev-Sec-Ops & Dev-Ops.
• Setting up/Maintaining integrations with SaaS/Cloud based applications.
• Experience of IAM Security.
• Troubleshoot reported production tickets and provide timely analysis and resolution
• Stay abreast of development tools, trends and practices, and act as an advocate and promoter for items that should be considered for future initiatives
• Direct external developers, providing technical guidance and performing code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to group standards.
• Keeping IT Roadmap in mind, being an IT thought partner to the business and creating highly scalable applications.
• Keeping Technical Debt to the bare minimum.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with product owners/ business analysts and understand requirements carefully and execute.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to deliver on the squad mission and working in an Agile environment
