Who we’re looking for:
The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Software Engineer with the Molecular Microbiology Clinical Laboratory at the University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake.
The Software Engineer will design and implement software, databases and cloud infrastructure for the state-of-the-art Molecular Microbiology clinical laboratory. This work will support clinical operations, rapid test volume growth, and custom applications and interfaces needed for our reference laboratory. The Software Engineer will work closely with faculty members and staff and collaborate with other Software Engineers in the department as needed to achieve goals.
This position will perform Python programming, developing web and database applications in a Linux environment, and will require an eye for UI/UX and use modern JavaScript stack (e.g. React). This position will work independently in a challenging environment and directly help improve the quality of patient care.
This Software Engineer will help maintain and expand our national leadership in molecular laboratory testing, will increase the reliability and scope of our web-based applications and infrastructure, and will build tools and workflows that improve our operation efficiency, ability to scale, and increase the capabilities of the UW Clinical Laboratory.
