Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Patent Search & IP Analytics

  • Execute FTO searches , Novelty Searches , and Prior Art Searches specific to:
  • Machine learning architectures (e.g., GNNs, transformers used in molecule prediction)
  • Software pipelines for target identification, QSAR modeling, docking, virtual screening
  • Cloud-based computational platforms for drug discovery
  • Analyze claims and map them against:
  • Algorithmic steps
  • Data structures
  • Model architectures
  • Software modules and APIs
  • Generate Patentability Reports , Claim Charts , and Technology Mapping Documents .

2. Patent Drafting – Software + Computational Biology

  • Draft detailed software + algorithm-centric patent specifications , including:
  • System architecture
  • Data flow diagrams
  • Model training workflows
  • Feature engineering pipelines
  • Molecular representation techniques (SMILES, fingerprints, embeddings)
  • Prepare claim sets covering:
  • Method claims (ML workflows, computational processes)
  • System claims (AI platforms, computational frameworks)
  • Computer-readable medium claims
  • Collaborate with inventors to capture both technical effect and novel algorithmic implementation .

3. Patent Filing & Prosecution Support

  • Support drafting of provisional, non-provisional, and PCT applications.
  • Prepare technical responses to office actions , focusing on algorithmic novelty and inventive step.
  • Coordinate with patent attorneys on claim amendments and prosecution strategy.

4. Technical Evaluation & Deep-Dive Analysis

  • Review source code architectures, model design documents, and software product flows.
  • Evaluate:
  • Novelty in ML architectures for molecule generation/optimization
  • Data engineering logic (ETL, preprocessing, feature selection)
  • Cloud-native deployment of AI drug discovery workflows
  • Assess scientific publications and compute-heavy pipelines for patentability.

5. Competitive Intelligence (Tech + Bio)

  • Track global IP filings across:
  • AI drug discovery platforms
  • Computational chemistry models
  • Generative ML frameworks for molecule design
  • Bioinformatics software tools
