Software Product Manager
Department: Product / Technology
Reports To: Head of Product / Chief Product Officer
Job Purpose
Lead the full software product lifecycle from discovery to launch and continuous optimization. This includes gathering customer insights, defining requirements, managing priorities, and driving product marketing initiatives, launch plans, and growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Discovery & Voice of Customer
Plan and conduct customer and user interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions.
Analyze feedback and feature requests, translating them into actionable development requirements.
Develop customer journey maps to identify pain points and improvement opportunities.
2. Requirements & Development Management
Prepare product documentation including PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on business and customer impact.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, UX/UI, and QA teams to ensure clarity of requirements and quality delivery.
Lead release planning and ensure launch readiness, documentation, and internal alignment.
3. Product Marketing & Go-To-Market Execution
Conduct market and competitive analysis to define target segments and product positioning.
Craft the product value proposition and core messaging.
Lead Go-To-Market strategy in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
Prepare launch materials including product pages, presentations, FAQs, and user guides.
Enable sales teams with clear messaging, objection-handling materials, and supporting content.
4. Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Define and monitor key KPIs such as Adoption, Retention, Churn, NPS, and Conversion.
Analyze usage data and recommend experiments or improvements as needed.
Provide periodic reports on roadmap progress, impact, and risks.
Authority (As per internal policy)
Propose roadmap priorities and define release scope in coordination with leadership.
Manage customer requirements and determine scope boundaries.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in software product management or a related role.
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management.
