Software QA Engineer

Job Title: Mid-Level QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level QA Engineer to join our growing team at AlphaRages. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on manual testing and test automation, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, reliable software. You will work closely with developers and product teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

 Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical documents

 Design, create, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios

 Perform manual, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing

 Identify, log, track, and verify defects using bug-tracking tools

 Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium (or similar)

 Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to improve overall software quality

 Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

 Research and recommend new QA tools, frameworks, and testing strategies

Requirements

 2–5 years of experience in manual software testing

 Hands-on experience or familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Protractor, or Watir

 Solid understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies (regression, black box, integration, etc.)

 Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

 Basic scripting or programming knowledge (JavaScript preferred)

 Ability to write clear, concise, and well-structured test documentation

Nice to Have

 Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

 Exposure to cloud-based or virtualized test environments

 API testing experience (Postman, REST tools)

 Performance or security testing exposure

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
