Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE) – Data Validation

Data Validation & Testing

• Perform thorough data validation, data reconciliation, and data integrity checks across source systems, data warehouses, and Power BI datasets.
• Validate Power BI reports, datasets, models, and dashboards end-to-end, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Conduct ETL/ELT testing to verify transformations, aggregations, business rules, and data pipelines.
• Design and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Compare source vs. target data using SQL queries, profiling, and automated checks.

Quality Assurance & Automation

• Develop and maintain data validation frameworks and reusable testing templates.
• Implement automated data-quality checks using SQL, Python, or relevant data validation tools.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to ensure data quality at every stage of the pipeline.
• Validate schema changes, table structures, relationships, and Power BI data models.
• Document defects, track issues, and ensure timely resolution using QA tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in data validation or BI testing
• Strong SQL skills
• Hands-on experience with Power BI data models and DAX validation
• Experience with ETL testing and data pipelines
• Familiarity with any data validation tool (Great Expectations, Soda, etc.)
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
