Position Overview
The Software Solution Architect - Rhapsody Developer & Administrator role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting healthcare integration solutions using the Health Rhapsody Integration Engine. This position supports both development and operational activities, with responsibilities spanning system design, interface development, custom filter creation, and overall configuration management.
Only qualified candidates with hands-on experience in Rhapsody Health Development and Administration, including use of the Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK), will be considered. The role requires strong healthcare integration expertise and the ability to translate business requirements into robust, secure, and scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Develop integration solutions to support new healthcare use cases
Design and build interfaces based on business requirements and specifications
Create technical requirements and system designs aligned with business needs
Develop custom filters using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK)
Create mapper definitions using EDI Message Designer
Write JavaScript code using Rhapsody JavaScript (v1 and v2) filters
Develop and consume SOAP and REST APIs
Perform data format translations including HL7 v2, HL7 v3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, JSON, and flat files
Perform CDA mapping and conversion activities
Prepare code reviews and SDLC documentation
Develop and manage database connections for MS SQL Server and Oracle
Implement TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAuth connections according to standards
Own overall system design, code quality, and configuration management
Required Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology-related field
Rhapsody Certification preferred

Required Skills & Experience
Several years of experience using the Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
Strong experience using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to develop custom filters and mappers
Experience translating message payloads between formats such as HL7, XML, JSON, and proprietary or legacy formats
Hands-on experience with SOAP, REST, OAuth, TCP connections, and LLP
Experience implementing transport encryption and security, including TLS and mutual certificate authentication

Strong healthcare IT experience, including:
JavaScript programming
SQL
XML
HL7 v2.x messaging
HL7 FHIR
CDA standards and related document types
Healthcare vocabularies (LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm)
Health Information Exchange (HIE) technologies
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
Implementing solutions based on implementation guides

Preferred Skills
Experience with the latest Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
Experience developing custom filters and mappers using RDK
Experience with data translation across HL7, XML, JSON, and legacy formats
Experience with web services, encryption, and secure transport protocols
