Responsibilities:
We have an opportunity for a Test Engineer to support Submarine Radar software evaluation team. Our engineers help build the Submarine Combat Systems delivered to the United States Navy (USN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Submarine fleet. Our close-knit team is passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Submarine community to develop solutions that allow the Navy to carry out high-stakes national security missions. This position is full-time on-site at NUWCDIVNPT in Newport, RI. You will be part of a team charged with providing systems operations engineering, fleet support, element evaluation and system test support to the US Government.

Ability to develop interoperability test plans based on requirements.

Able to multitask with many different programs/stakeholders daily.

Experience implementing and administrating network devices - firewalls, routers, VPN and backup applications.

Analyzing how our software meets system functional and performance requirements.

Configure Radar systems and networks.

Investigate test failures and determine root-cause.

Write clear and concise bug reports, verify bug fixes (validation/verification).

Experience working proactively with local and remote test team members.

Ability to travel (domestic only) (approximately 3 non-consecutive weeks per year).

Knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools.

Working knowledge of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories.

Communication among your peers and up the chain of management.

Recognition of relevant information, and clear communication of issues and alternatives.

Travel required 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and Minimum 2 years' experience, MS 0-2 years' experience OR hands on applicable Submarine combat systems/fire control, sonar technician experience

Preferred Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or CompTIA Security+ and/or CompTIA CASP

Ability to obtain a security clearance with the US government, active clearance preferable

Experience with SWFTS baseline testing environments is desired but not required

Solid verbal and written communications skills using Microsoft Office products

Experience with testing in an Agile development environment
