Software Tester (Banking Systems)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Tester to join our Banking Technology team. This role is ideal for a fresh graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science who is looking to start a career in software quality assurance within the banking and financial services domain. The Tester will support the testing of core banking applications, digital channels, and internal systems to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with banking standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review software requirements, functional specifications, and business processes related to banking systems.
• Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on given requirements.
• Perform different types of testing including functional testing, regression testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools.
• Verify fixes and ensure defects are resolved before release.
• Assist in testing banking applications such as online banking, mobile banking, payment systems, and internal financial systems.
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and senior testers to understand system functionality and issues.
• Participate in test planning meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
• Prepare basic test reports and provide clear feedback on test results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of experience in software testing or IT-related roles.
• Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Knowledge of basic testing concepts, test cases, and defect life cycle.
• Familiarity with databases and basic SQL queries is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of banking or financial systems is a plus.
