Soil Sampling Field Technician

Stratum Engineering, LLC in Slidell, LA is searching for a Soil Field Sampling Technician. The individual in this position will be responsible for collecting soil samples obtained by the drilling crew subcontractors using auger rotary and wet rotary drilling techniques. The technician will locate the boring locations using GPS coordinates, monitor the drilling operations for quality control, obtain samples in the field and place in plastic wrapping to preserve moisture. The samples will be transported to our laboratory in containers to prevent disturbance. The technician will be responsible for logging and classifying the samples during the field investigation. We will train qualified candidates.

**Applicants MUST have a valid driver's license and good driving record and will be verified before employment.**

Responsibilities:

· Maintaining constant contact with Supervisor

· Ability to work in all weather conditions and travel within 200 mile radius including some overnight stays

· Ability to lift weight up to 40 lbs.

· Label sample containers as directed

· Clean and maintain equipment

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
