Job Description:
As the Operations Manager at Sunergy, you will lead our solar installation projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your role will involve managing installation teams, coordinating project execution, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining compliance with industry codes and regulations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in electrical and general construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management and Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of solar installation projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and workflow to achieve productivity targets.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and sales, to ensure smooth project delivery.
2. Resource and Workforce Management
- Recruit, train, and manage installation crews, project managers, and technical staff.
- Monitor team performance and enforce quality control standards for all operational tasks.
- Ensure employees are certified and compliant with industry standards and safety protocols.
3. Inventory and Supply Chain Management
- Oversee procurement of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other equipment.
- Manage inventory levels to meet project demands while minimizing storage costs.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts, optimize pricing, and ensure timely delivery.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control
- Develop and manage budgets for operations, including labor, materials, equipment, and maintenance.
- Track expenses and implement cost-control measures to improve profitability.
- Conduct financial analysis on project costs and prepare reports for senior management.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure that projects adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality guidelines.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes, including site inspections and system testing.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations.
6. Process Improvement
- Analyze and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
- Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance productivity and operational performance.
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures.
7. Customer Relationship Management
- Address customer inquiries and concerns related to installations and maintenance.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient project delivery and after-sales support.
- Work closely with the customer service team to resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
8. Data Management and Reporting
- Track key operational metrics and generate reports on performance, productivity, and profitability.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in project delivery and operations.
- Present findings to executive leadership and provide recommendations for strategy adjustments.
9. Maintenance and After-Sales Support
- Oversee the maintenance and service of installed systems, managing teams for routine and emergency maintenance.
- Develop maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and efficiency of solar systems.
- Implement protocols for handling warranty claims, troubleshooting, and customer complaints.
10. Strategic Planning and Growth Initiatives
- Contribute to strategic planning by providing insights on operational capabilities and constraints.
- Identify opportunities to expand services, improve efficiencies, and grow market share.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to set goals and develop action plans for achieving them.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical work and 5 years in general construction, with a focus on solar and/or electrical installations.
- Proven experience in project coordination and management.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
- Must have own hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Working knowledge of solar installation, construction, and/or roofing.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and lead a construction crew.
