Solar PV Electrician

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar PV Electrician to join our growing renewable energy team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical experience, a commitment to safety, and an interest in sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and commission solar PV systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations
• Carry out electrical wiring, inverter installations, and system connections
• Perform routine maintenance and fault-finding on existing PV systems
• Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671)
• Complete necessary documentation, including installation reports and test certificates
• Work collaboratively with site teams, project managers, and customers
• Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• Experience with solar PV installations (preferred but not essential)
• Valid ECS/CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments

Desirable:

• Solar PV qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small-Scale Solar PV Systems)
• Experience with battery storage systems and EV charger installations
• Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
