Solar PV Electrician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar panel systems on residential properties, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and familiarity with various tools and machinery. Prior experience with excavators, welding, hand tools, and power tools is advantageous. This position is paid and ideal for individuals eager to grow within the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Prepare installation sites by clearing and levelling surfaces as required
• Install mounting structures using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment where necessary
• Safely handle and position solar panels and related components using appropriate lifting techniques and machinery such as excavators
• Connect electrical wiring in accordance with safety standards and technical specifications
• Conduct system testing to ensure optimal performance post-installation
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations throughout the installation process
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high quality standards
• Maintain organisation of tools, equipment, and materials on-site

Experience

• NVQ Level 3 Electrician - mandatory
• Proven experience in mechanical work or electrical installation
• Familiarity with excavator operation is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided
• Experience with welding, hand tools, and power tools is highly desirable
• Knowledge of electrical systems or electrical experience will be considered a strong asset
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics is beneficial
• Previous work in renewable energy or solar installation is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: £24,420.00-£59,416.17 per year
