The Solar Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising, executing, and commissioning electrical works at solar power project sites. The role ensures that all installations comply with approved designs, safety standards, and local electrical regulations while maintaining quality, efficiency, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site electrical installation of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, combiner boxes, cabling, earthing, and protection systems
- Ensure installation is carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and standards
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and project teams to ensure smooth site operations
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of solar electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company HSE policies
- Monitor site progress and prepare daily/weekly progress reports
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality control
- Support grid synchronization and liaise with utility authorities when required
- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues efficiently
- Guide and supervise technicians, electricians, and subcontractors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in solar PV installation and site execution
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, inverters, protection devices, and earthing
- Familiarity with solar standards (IEC, NEC, or local regulations)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

Experience
- 2–5+ years of relevant experience in solar or renewable energy projects (preferred)
