Solar Technical Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking the sales hand-offs from our awesome System Designers - interacting with them and creating precise technical drawings and designs that meet project specifications.

This role requires proficiency in various design software - especially CAD and a strong understanding of mechanical design principles. The Technical Designer will collaborate with our lead Electrician, System Designers and outside Vendors to ensure that all designs are accurate, functional, and adhere to industry standards. Both Residential (PV and/or Batteries) and - depending on skill - Commercial designs.

Duties

• Develop detailed technical drawings using software such as AutoCAD.
• Create models and simulations to visualize designs and identify potential issues.
• Draft plans for mechanical components, systems, and assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine designs based on feedback and project requirements.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Maintain organized records of all design changes and revisions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Strong understanding of solar mechanical design principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation in design solutions.
• Previous experience in a technical design role is preferred but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $38.00 per hour
