  Role Summary
  At Lloyds Technology Centre, Solution Architects play a critical role in shaping and delivering technology solutions that enable outstanding customer outcomes and align with the Group’s long-term technology strategy. This role is responsible for defining secure, scalable, and modern solution architectures that drive simplification, innovation, and resilience across Lloyds Banking Group’s technology landscape.
  The Solution Architect acts as a bridge between business objectives and technology execution, ensuring architectural integrity while supporting agile delivery at scale.
  Key Responsibilities
  Solution Design & Delivery
• Design and deliver end-to-end solution architectures for complex systems aligned to Lloyds Banking Group’s platform-based architecture model.
• Ensure all solution designs meet functional, non-functional, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements while adhering to Group architecture standards and best practices.
• Support delivery teams with technical planning, effort estimation, and proactive risk mitigation, including management of technical debt and technology currency.
• Strategic Alignment & Innovation
• Contribute to quarterly planning cycles and the development of technology roadmaps.
• Identify and recommend modernization opportunities, including adoption of emerging technologies and architectural patterns to improve scalability, resilience, and efficiency.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects, and Engineering teams to ensure architectural alignment and delivery success.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, effectively translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant insights for senior stakeholders.
• Governance & Compliance
• Participate in Architecture Review Committees (ARC) and Architecture Working Groups (AWG), providing architectural oversight and assurance.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of architectural decisions, ensuring compliance with security, risk, and governance standards.
• Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns such as Microservices, CQRS, Event-Driven Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks and delivery methodologies such as SAFe, TOGAF, and Agile.
• Ability to create clear technical blueprints and evaluate alternative solution approaches.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• At least 3+ years of experience in solution architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
• Preferred Certifications
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
• Other relevant cloud or architecture certifications are an advantage
