Solution Architect - Azure & AI

Job Description

Azure Solution Architecture & Design
  • Define end-to-end Azure architectures across IaaS, PaaS, hybrid cloud, and AI/ML workloads, aligned with enterprise standards and customer objectives.
  • Lead advanced discovery and architecture workshops with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Translate complex customer requirements into secure, scalable, and cost-efficient Azure solution designs.
  • Produce architecture deliverables including reference architectures, HLDs, LLDs, bills of materials, and professional services scopes.
  • Define workload migration strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, and cloud-native modernization.
AI & Advanced Cloud Innovation:
  • Architect AI and Generative AI solutions using Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning.
  • Design Copilot integrations, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and custom LLM-based applications tailored to business use cases.
  • Define AI governance models, responsible AI practices, and MLOps frameworks to ensure AI solutions are secure, compliant, and production ready.
Pre-Sales Technical Enablment:
  • Act as the senior technical lead throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, delivering solution presentations, architecture briefings, executive sessions, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
  • Partner with Account Managers to shape opportunities through strong technical qualification, solution positioning, and value-based architecture narratives.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs by providing technical responses, solution scoping, and effort estimation.
  • Own the technical sales deliverables from opportunity identification through solution sign-off.
  • Ensure effective handover from pre-sales to delivery teams, maintaining architectural continuity.
Security, Governance & Platform Foundations:
  • Embed security by design principles across all architectures using Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure Policy.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet applicable regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, NCA, and industry-specific standards).
  • Design enterprise landing zones using Azure Landing Zones and the Cloud Adoption Framework, including governance, RBAC, networking, and policy guardrails.
Delivery Oversight & Practice Contribution:
  • Provide architectural governance throughout delivery to ensure implementations adhere to approved designs and Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex design or delivery challenges.
  • Develop and maintain internal reference architectures, best practices, and reusable solution accelerators.
  • Stay current with Azure platform evolution, Microsoft AI roadmap, and market trends, contributing to internal enablement and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements:
  • 7–9+ years of experience in IT, with at least 4–5 years focused on Microsoft Azure architecture and solution design
  • Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex, multi-workload Azure solutions in enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with core Azure services including Virtual Machines, AKS, App Service, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and Azure Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall)
  • Practical experience with Azure AI services including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Services, and Azure Machine Learning
  • Strong understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, including Azure Arc and Azure VMware Solution
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
  • Solid identity and access management knowledge using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
  • TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
  • Experience with FinOps practices and Azure cost optimization
